Back by Popular Demand... The Company of Music Theatre & Dance presented: A Christmas & New Year's Spectacular performed by The Performance Workshop Youth Ensemble. This was not your ordinary ensemble! The Company of MTD offered a taste of Broadway right here in our own backyard! There was no need to fight traffic to the city to see a show. This production was beautifully conceptualized, and presented a whimsical holiday show seen through the eyes of "Mrs. Claus".

In Act One, Mrs. Claus and delightful holiday children met, greeted and celebrated the holidays with characters that came to life and performed. Audience members experience an evening of delight that included Dolls & Jesters, Russian Dolls, Circus Clowns, Colorful Peacocks, Winter Land Trees, Angels, Fairies and Celestial Snowflakes! In Act Two, they observed the holidays as they are celebrated "Around the World" through drink, spice and song visiting Africa, Japan, France, Spain and Ireland! The evening progressed to our beloved New York City where Elves & Gift Wrap "Rappers" celebrated New Year's Eve at Time Square, Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall. The great New York City skyline was seen above as a precise kick line danced below!

A Christmas and New Year's Spectacular was presented with a cast and crew of nearly one hundred! The show warmed the cockles of our audiences heart and provided a wonderful holiday memory to last a lifetime. The Performance Workshop Youth Ensemble was thrilled to participate in a production of this quality. Historically, The Company of MTD casts local talented performers that are then highlighted, rehearsed and challenged to present a higher standard of performance for their age.

The not-for-profit organization of Music Theatre & Dance is under the vision of Former Broadway Artist and Artistic Director, Alison Mann. Mann strives to raise the bar for youth performers by presenting vehicles that give its performers a true creative, immersion into the theatrical experience from beginning to end. Mann demands a level of performance that is comparable to pre-professional. The production is original in its conception and promises to delight audiences with professional choreography, costuming, lighting, scenery and backdrops. The Company of MTD has launched several original productions sense its inception that range from the classics to the contemporary. Former productions include: Gershwin, The Man & His Music, Bach to Big Band, Seasons of Dance, and Spooktacular!

In addition, a portion of each ticket was donated to support our local veterans and food banks. Santa even made an appearance prior to the show!
